HOMES​
​
The Suppiah Charity Association (SCA) works in close cooperation with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in India.
So far the SCA has partially or fully financed 6 homes for destitute or homeless people in different parts of India
BASIC NEEDS
​
​Apart from providing a shelter and food SCA also supports our Partner Associations in providing transportation, health care, access to clean water, medical appliances and play grounds and sport facilities.
EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL​
TRAINING
​​
All children in the homes supported by SCA have to opportunity to visit the best schools available at the location of the home.
Our commitment goes beyond the basic schooling and extends to vocational or even university education. SCA has started an educational initiative to support young women in attain a profession in which they can attain independence.
EMPOWERMENT
​
In association with Maher Ashram SCA support more than 250 self help groups for women in many villages.
All inhabitants of Maher homes are educated towards self reliance, against caste, gender, religious and nationality prejudices.
CURRENT PROJECTS

Covid-19 relief- providing food and medication to surrounding villages and slums as well as to all the inhabitants of the Maher Homes
Financial support for 50% of the costs of a new home for boys in Jharkhand
Rain water Harvesting projects in all Maher Homes

Suppiah Charity Association has been working in close cooperation with Maher Ashram, founded by Sr. Lucy Kurien, for the past 10 years.
Sr. Lucy, together with the Board of directors and all the staff at Maher have been a dependable and trustworthy partner and we know that all our funds are put to use for the purposes as intended by us.
